In Memory of Uncle Craig

Zort Craig Brown 54, Lincoln, went to Heaven on Saturday evening (3/14/09). Zort was born November 27, 1954 in Dexter, Iowa to Francis and Zort Allen Brown. He was raised on the family farm near Casey, Iowa, spending much of his childhood making friends, getting into mischief, watching the stars, and tormenting his sisters' boyfriends.
After completing high school at Adair-Casey, Zort left small-town Iowa for the big city lights of Council Bluffs, Omaha, Fremont, and Lincoln. It was while he worked for Prairie Farms Dairy as a route salesman that he met a feisty waitress named Ceil at Village Inn. They fell in love quickly, became best friends, and married on November 12, 1983. Over the next 25 years, Zort and Ceil truly reflected God's purpose of marriage by becoming one flesh, one person, completing each other in every way.
Zort worked as a Power Plant Operator at UNL City Campus for 16 years, then as an Operator in the Energy Plant at Bryan/LGH East for 12 years. He enjoyed spending time with his son and grandson, restoring and building antique motorcycles, working in his machine shop, hanging out with friends, and taking a Harley ride with Ceil to dinner in a nearby town.
Zort is survived by his wife, Debra Ceil Brown, Lincoln; son, Zort Jason Brown, Omaha; grandson, Zort Caleb Brown, Omaha; sisters and brother-in-law, Karen Moriarity, Des Moines, Iowa; Sandi Davis, Wichita, Kan.; Connie and Rex Noland, Adair, Iowa; mother-in-law, Frieda Menkens, Lincoln; aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends. We are assured we will be together again with Zort because we have the sure and certain promise of Salvation through a personal relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ.
